A garden is a planned space, usually outdoors, set aside for the display, cultivation, and enjoyment of plants and other forms of nature. In short, it’s like trying to accommodate a part of mother nature at home.
Indoor gardens are sometimes incorporated as part of air conditioning at home or heating systems. Indoor gardening extends the growing season in the fall and spring and can be used for winter gardening. It is concerned with the growing of houseplants within a building, in a conservatory, or in a greenhouse.
Why you should have an indoor garden
Indoor Gardening Is Versatile
Not all plants require a large area to grow, some are just kept decorated at homes. No matter how much space you have, you can always find room for a few plants. This is true even if you live in an apartment or only have a small porch. All you need is a DIY attitude and a bit of creativity.
Home Gardening Relieves Stress
Imagine having a rough day at school or work and coming back home to plain walls. Not something you would like, right? Plants can relieve stress and also act like a “go to person” when you’re feeling low. Maybe dig a little mud or watch your plants shoot up could be just what you wanted.
Killing time with fun
For some, gardening is a solo activity. But this doesn’t have to be the case. Why not ask your spouse and/or children to give you a hand in the garden? You may be surprised by how much fun you can all have together. Finding fun activities for the whole family to participate in can be tough and we often resort to spending a bunch of money to have fun, but working in a garden together costs nothing.
Adds to the look
A little green makes literally everything look better. Indoor gardening can make your home look ten times more attractive than it used to. Green and clean as plants come with an added advantage of purifying air around you, so you just made yourself a natural air purifier. The setting up! Light and bright
You must find a suitable place where its bright and sunny throughout the day. Plants must receive direct sunlight for better growth. Different plants have different sunlight requirements so you must plan accordingly.
Wait to water
Plants live on water, but be careful not to water log the pots. The roots will die due to excess water stagnation. It’s important to analyze how you’re going to water your garden before you plant it. And, now is a good time to seriously consider investing in a rain barrel. I have two, and they are essential in the summer months for keeping my garden well watered.
Keep all suitable fertilizers and pesticides in hand as you plan your garden because you don’t want any mess later. You can make natural pesticides with neem leaves for ants. Be careful when using these because an overdose can kill your plants along with the pests. Hire an expert if you have to.
